AHICAM CHILDREN’S HOME: ANNUAL COIN DRIVE

UC Academy is pleased to sponsor Ahicam Children’s Home. In addition to prayer and friendship, UC Academy will provide financial support that will enable more than 50 at-risk orphans in Guatemala to receive a Christian education, food, housing and basic care.

Ahicam is located in a rural town of Machaquilá, Guatemala. They house orphaned children from ages 1 to 18. Some of the children suffer from physical or mental disabilities. Directed by Papa Luis and Mama Cony, Ahicam is committed to sharing the love of Christ with children who have been abandoned or displaced because of violence. Ahicam provides a safe environment for children to grow in the Lord and break the cycle of violence and poverty!

Donations are always appreciated in helping us support the children at Ahicam Children’s Home!

We will be having our Annual Guatemala Coin Drive for Ahicam Children’s Home from Tuesday, February 19 through Friday, February 22! This year, Kindergarten through High School will be participating. Our school-wide goal is to raise $5,000 in four days! Every $30 raised supports a bed for one month.  Also, 15% of what is raised will go towards sending the High School Missions team to Guatemala!

Each school-level will be participating through different challenges throughout the week of the Coin Drive. For information on the student’s “Make A Change” Challenge and how you or your student can participate, check out the school-level specific flyers below:

As we continue to raise these much needed funds, please be in prayer for the children and staff of Ahicam Children’s Home, along with our UCA students and staff who will be traveling there to minister this summer. You can earn money to pay for school expenses by purchasing gift cards (scrip) through UC Academy. It’s that simple!

Scrip is an optional program that UC Academy offers to our school families to help offset eligible school expenses such as:

• Tuition
• Choir Fees
• Parking permits
• Sports spirit pack
• P.E. uniforms
• Servanthood hours
• Registration fee
• Drama fees
• Field trips

HOW DO I EARN FREE MONEY?

All you need to do is buy Scrip (gift cards) for the things you are currently buying (food, clothing, toys, gifts, gasoline and other everyday essentials) through UC Academy. A portion of your hard-earned money will be returned to you in the way of a credit to your family’s Scrip Account. Earn extra credit by having your family and friends purchase Scrip through UC Academy, and the credit they earn will automatically be applied to your account.

Scrip profits are split between UC Academy and enrolled school families. UC Academy families will earn 60% and UC Academy will earn 40%. The percentage that goes to UC Academy will be used towards various purchases such as lockers and computers for the students.

If you place your order online at Raiseright.com, or on the RaiseRight app, you will have the option of using  (direct debit from your bank account with a $.29 convenience fee) or credit card (Visa or Mastercard with a 3% fee) or (debit card with a 1% fee) to pay for the order or by submitting cash or check to the Finance office. RaiseRight uses the safe, reliable NACHA electronic fund transfer system.

Complete the enrollment form 

You will then receive an email from RaiseRight to finalize your account so you can begin using scrip.

Your family and/or friends can also complete the enrollment form on the link above.  Their donations will be linked to your student and your family earnings.

GUIDELINES

• All scrip orders must be picked up in the White Oak Office. The only students permitted to pick up orders will be High School students.
• If we receive an NSF from the bank for your check, you will be responsible for the $35 NSF fee, and will need to pay UC Academy in cash for your order prior to obtaining the order.
• Please note that scrip credit you earn is not transferable to another UC Academy family.
• Scrip credit is not redeemable at any time for cash.
• If a family withdraws their children from UC Academy, the credit left in their account will be transferred into the school’s general account.
• Scrip earnings are posted to your tuition account monthly.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Thank you to all the families who participated in the Box Tops for Education program last year. Here are three easy, everyday ways you can help:

Scan – Install the Box Tops for Education mobile app and scan your receipts within 14 days of your purchase.  Select United Christian Academy as your school of choice. Send. Your confirmation email to your teacher and earn cash for your class! Each Box Top coupon is worth 10 cents, and that adds up fast!

RALPHS – COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM

Calling all UC Academy families to enroll in the Ralph’s Reward Program! If every family used this program, even if visiting Ralphs occasionally, it could significantly increase the amount earned for our school.

Please re-register for Ralphs Community Contribution Program’s new term. You can enroll on-line at www.ralphs.com or bring the attached document to Ralphs where the cashier will scan it in. When registering on-line click on “Community Contribution” at the bottom of the page. Enroll as a participant. The I.D. # for UC Academy is 91398. This only has to be done once each year, and all purchases will be credited toward UC Academy’s account through your Ralphs club card or phone number entry.

RECYCLING

UC Academy recycles printer/toner cartridges as well as cell phones. There is a drop-off basket in the school office. Please drop off your used cartridges and old cell phones and UC Academy will earn free money as well as help keep our environment clean.
