Academic Success Programs

The Academic Success Program (ASP) provides instructional support to meet the unique learning needs of individual students. At UC Academy, we are proud of our wholistic approach to student learning, encouraging the use of multiple modalities in the classroom to best serve the individual student. The goal of this approach is to equip students with the skills and strategies to achieve their full potential in an inclusive, general education classroom environment. Participating students in Elementary do not have to have a learning disability to qualify for the program’s support. Some students have learning gaps that are addressed for a limited time as needed. If a student is suspected to have a learning disability, and to identify possible learning deficits, UCA’s Academic Success Program (ASP) department works with professional special education personnel within Cucamonga School District and Chaffey Joint Unified School District to facilitate such assessments. UCA’s students with an IEP/ISP or a 504 plan will be required to enroll in the program. All other students in grades K-5 will be subject to a 6-week observation/documentation period at the start of a new grade level to determine eligibility for the program following general education teacher interventions.  Students in grades 6-12 will need to have an IEP/ISP or a 504 to be eligible for the program.
