OUR STAFF CULTURE

Mission is WHAT we do. Culture is HOW we do it.
UC Academy’s culture is based on a set of values that reflect our mission and our vision.

We are blessed to have an incredible staff here at UCA! One of our goals as a staff is to authentically live out our Staff Cultural Values day-in and day-out. Our Administration team would love to hear how YOU have seen our staff and faculty members exemplifying our staff values each month. Please take a moment to share with us any stories or moments where you have seen any of our UCA employees embody this particular value. Thank you for taking the time to help us recognize and honor our staff in this special way!

UNITED WE PRAY

We are prayerful. We deliberately lift up the UCA community (leaders, faculty, staff, students and families) in prayer and seek God’s will on a daily basis. We pray individually and in community. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide our decision-making in all things.
(Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2, Philippians 4:6)

UNITED WE COMMUNICATE

We are people who communicate well: upward, downward, and across. We provide appropriate notifications, clarity, follow-up, and follow-through. Our communication is authentic, consistent, swift, and clear, always avoiding gossip and/or discord. We take the time to listen to others and consider others’ viewpoints. We talk to people, not about people. We are committed to healthy communication between all members of the organization.
(James 1:19, Ephesians 4:25)

UNITED WE ACT WITH INTEGRITY

We are people of integrity. We are committed to high moral standards, convictions, honesty, transparency, and repentance across all organizational levels: school board, administration, faculty, and staff.
(2 Corinthians 1:12 & 8:21, Titus 2:7)

UNITED WE LEARN

We are teachable, correctable, and humble. We are open to learn new ways and methods. We are willing to change and give up what’s not working for the better. We are committed to being a team player, willing to learn from and collaborate with others.
(Romans 12:3 & 12:16, Ephesians 4:2)

UNITED WE EXCEL

We desire excellence from ourselves and from others. We work hard at what we do and perform to the best of our ability. We maintain high standards as a school both professionally and academically. We use standardized data and assessments to inform instructional and operational decisions.
(Colossians 3:23. Philippians 4:8)

UNITED WE OFFER GRACE

We are people of grace, stiving to give people the benefit of the doubt. We encourage others and forgive one another.
(2 Corinthians 8:7, James 4:6, 2 Corinthians 12:9)

UNITED WE GIVE THANKS

We are grateful. We remain appreciative and thankful, knowing that ultimately everything is a blessing from the Lord.
(Psalm 118:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Philippians 4:6)

UNITED WE SERVE

We have a servant’s heart. We put the needs of our school community above our own needs, wants, or desires. We are hardworking. We give our best and are fruitful over what’s been given. We look for opportunities to be a blessing to others.
(1 Peter 4:10, Philippians 2:1-11, Romans 12:9-13)

UNITED WE CONNECT

We intentionally connect with those around us. We celebrate culture and diversity. We fellowship together. We welcome new team members and the experience and knowledge they bring to our team. We are caring and strive to build one another up.
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Proverbs 27:17)

UNITED WE GROW

We are committed to growing. We seek to grow the Kingdom of God through evangelism and discipleship. Organizationally, we seek growth in the quality and enrollment of our school. Individually, we strive to grow in relationship, in profession, and in spirit.
(Jeremiah 17:7-8, Ephesians 4:15, Colossians 1:10
