FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL DOROTHY SEMANOVICH

Welcome to UC Academy Junior High School! It is my extreme honor to partner with you on your child’s behalf as your new principal. I believe that genuine partnerships and collaboration foster healthy ownership of a rich school culture. I am blessed to have the opportunity to lead a school with uniquely gifted students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I know that God has great plans for our new season together.

I have taught elementary, junior high, and adult learners during my 16 years in education. I have been blessed to work in Christian education for the past 13 years. I have spent the last four years in school administration, three of these years as the principal of a K-8 school. My love for the Lord, education, and experience have allowed me to work in my calling and find my passion within it.

The Junior high years are filled with challenges, victories, great growth, and the beginnings of self-awareness as individuals. The junior high years are critical and important years for students. What occurs during these years will have an impact on their growth and development for years to come. The junior high years are my favorite years, as students begin to learn to cultivate lifelong friendships, work more independently, seek the Lord independently, self-advocate, and grow more responsible. My desire is not only to see junior high students excel academically, but to grow deeper in their love and relationship with Christ.

UCA becoming home for my son and I is a tremendous blessing. I invite you to come visit our campus for a tour and to experience our wonderful community.
